Our Story

Sheryl Jones Jewelry Designer

A True Original

Sheryl Jones, says Essence magazine, is as rare a phenomenon as the diamonds and gemstones she retails:

“Sheryl is one of a kind – literally. The African-American jewelry designer is currently the only woman of color operating her own brand of bling in New York City's famous 'Diamond District’. Her one-of-a-kind pieces have garnered much deserved praise, as well as legions of devoted private clients. Her attention to the finest details and appreciation for the exquisite nature of the best gemstones is what keeps her in business."

Sheryl began her career in fine jewelry in 1999, after working for a decade in the entertainment industry as a film and television publicist and later as Vice President of Communications at MTV: Music Television. “I have always been passionate about fine gemstones’ transformative power and beauty,” she explains, “and dreamed of one day bringing music’s similar vitality to a fine jewelry collection of my own.

I have always been passionate about fine gemstones’ transformative power and beauty, and dreamed of one day bringing music’s similar vitality to a fine jewelry collection of my own.
— Sheryl Jones, Owner + Designer

She began working on 47th Street – the heart of Manhattan’s Diamond District – as an apprentice with one of Belgium's finest diamond manufacturers. Several years later, she expanded her expertise supervising diamond production for an American manufacturer. Sheryl’s early years on The Street, as it is known by industry insiders, provided her with an unparalleled opportunity to hone her gemological knowledge and design skills while building a substantial roster of private clients.

Established in 2002, Sheryl Jones Designs is known for a connoisseur’s level of craftsmanship, quality and detail. Sheryl’s creations are fine jewelry with a fresh, current sensibility and a timeless appeal; heirloom objects that reflect their owners’ individual style while also illuminating every woman’s inner beauty.
